    2. Great story, well-written (not all ST books are), lots of action and character development. It is set post-Nemesis and immediately after the novel Death in Winter, but any Star Trek fan can easily pick up up and enjoy it out of order.

    3. This was my first taste of post-Nemesis Trek fiction, and I was very disappointed. The return of the Borg (a scary if overused villain) as motivated to destroy instead of assimilate had potential, as did Captain Picard's solution to fight them. Worf and Beverly are written pretty well also. However, there were just too many flaws for me to recommend this novel. The threat was never fully developed, and while little ultimately happened plot-wise, it still felt rushed. New characters were introduce [...]

    4. This book introduces some new crew members, primarily a new vulcan counselor who is a definite mary sue. She's a stereotype manic pixie dreamgirl, and completely insuffarable, and I hope she gets killed off soon. The characterizations of others are strange, and overall it's a not a great book. I recommend just looking up a summary and skipping to the next one.

    5. This is a quick read and, as others have said, rehashes parts of well known episodes. The Captain's actions do not seem well thought out and there is little motivation for what he does. It seems there is no reason the final solution was not their first attempt. However, it is kind of interesting to see Worf be a little more reasonable and level headed. I'm interested enough in the new crew to check out the next one, but I'm kind of hoping it's written by someone else.

    6. When I first read the description for this book I thought it was a great concept. I'm a big fan of the Borg episodes and stories and thought it was too convenient that the Borg would just have stopped from the events at the end of Voyager and the movie. Was also interested in seeing some new crew members with members of the original crew moving on to other vessels. So I was quite a bit disappointed in this book. This is not a well written book and the story just does not work. I don't want to s [...]
