    1. long, laborious, monotonous book. from these journals, Livingstone was simply an explorer who happened to be a Christian. the book is full of difficult names and monotonous treks. there were a few high points where he would describe an African tradition or unusual specimen of animal. other than that, the book is almost devoid of anything spiritual. Christ may have been mentioned a couple of times in the hundreds of pages. difficult read. recommended for 6th graders who behave like hooligans.
