    1. I just finished reading Colorblind by Violette Dubrinsky It was COMPLETELY AWESOME! Leon's sexy ass was completely enamored with Penny. And the love scenes were on point - *fans self* I love historical novels! Plus this was also a shifter story which I also love. Violette, I love both Penny/Leon's and Julia/Armand's stories. I especially loved the epilogue! Thanks for all the research you did and the historical accuracy. This history teacher appreciates it. BtwPenny is Freaking Fierce!

    2. This story made me nervous but I always get that way when I read a story about slavery. The fact that Penny was slave who had the strength that she did made the story that much better. I liked the way the author told the tale of Penny and Leon , it was exciting , and scary, very sexy, and cute at the end I really enjoyed the fact the story characters were involved in the modern day tale of Cedar Creak. I enjoyed reading this story and I am looking forward to the next book by Violette.

    3. I really enjoyed the love story of Leon and Penny. The fact that she was born a slave and a werewolf made it a very interesting I/R romance to read. Leon's hate for slavery gave the story more bite and to what ends he is willing to go to protect his mate for life and do what he knows is right. The story really makes you feel for Penny and all the other slaves in the story and the lifestyle they had to endure in order to survive. Leon and his brothers were the kind of men any women would love to [...]

    4. First I need to say that I did not mean to pick this type of book to read. I have never been a fan of paranormal. Well Violette Dubrinsky, has made me eat my words. Never say never. This book was so good. Leon, a French werewolf, who has wealth and connections arrives in Louisiana with one purpose: to free as many slaves as he can. During his mission he finds not only slaves but one of his own kind – Penny, who is a southern slave and a werewolf. The story takes place in the year of 1851.Once L [...]

    5. Before I started reading this book I was already excited because I had read the first one and couldn't wait to see what Ms. Dubrinsky had in store for me. It was a good read. There were times when I cringed at the language that was being tossed around but I had to keep in mind the setting was in the 1800's ad allowed the issue to brush by. Towards the ending I started getting irritated because the characters had went through a lot already yet there was one more big bang that set me off. Overall [...]

    6. KINDLE #1 BESTSELLER Leon Arnaud is a French werewolf on a mission in America. Unlike most of his kind, he cannot sit idly back and watch humans commit one of the vilest atrocities he’s ever seen: slavery. With wealth and connections at his disposal, he arrives in Louisiana with one purpose and one purpose only: to free as many slaves as possible. His mission is upended when he finds not only slaves on his newly acquired plantation, but one of his own kind, a female werewolf. A slave, Penny ha [...]

    7. I really enjoyed this one. The writing, the story and the connection between Penny and Leon made it hard for me to put this book down! Penny was definitely my favorite character - she was assertive, tough and could hold her own against the villains in this book. I can't wait to continue on with the series. Hopefully we will hear more from these characters in subsequent books.

    8. My second paranormal story. Lovely sweet romantic love story. I enjoyed it. Well worth the read. Not what I was expecting.Merged review:This story was my introduction to this author. This was a tender and loving story about Leon and Penny. This author is now one of my favorites and I have not read a bad story from her yet. Great read.

    9. First of all, I am a huge fan of Violette Dubrinsky’s work; I read “Taken by the Moon” and I was instantly hooked. Violette writes Interracial Romance books-with the main heroines being Black and female. Being a Black female myself, I am naturally able to relate to her characters. In this book, she writes about Leon Arnaud (a French werewolf) and Penny (a southern slave and werewolf) in 1851. These two characters also made a cameo in “Taken by the Moon,” and this book looks back at the [...]

    10. I give this book infinity stars !!!!!!This book was absolutely amazing and It was as good as the first. Rarely do you see a sequel live up the sheer awesomeness of the debut but Colorblind achieved that. The best part is they you don't have to read the first book to read the second because It can be read as a stand alone.Leon, a wealthy French werewolf, arrives in Louisiana undercover to help to free as many slaves as he can. During his mission and stay at his plantation, he finds not only slave [...]

    11. This was a very interesting take on the werewolf genre. This came highly recommended. I really enjoyed the first half of the story. I love how Leon scented a were among the slaves. I like that Penny did not know what she was and Leon had to teach her. I loved their first true coupling and especially loved when they switched to their wolf forms. That was hot and different. I also loved when Penny got jealous and ravaged Leon and bit him to show that she was claiming him as hers as well.I love sex [...]

    12. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel! I have never read one like it. I am saddened that it seems more like it don't exist. If anyone knows of more like it please do share! It was such a treat. I loved how feisty and strong Penny was given her circumstances. The relationships between the characters were very well developed, and enjoyable. I was quit impressed with how much depth and content the author was able to fit into this story. I wish there was more to come. This story had a lot of dimensions to [...]

    13. 4 stars. This paranormal historical novel set in 1851 Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was a gem of a find for one who has read tons of 'traditional' historical novels. The author told a great love story via the protagonists, Leon Arnaud a plantation owning abolitionist werewolf and Penny a field slave and werewolf. I hope the author will write more stories featuring these brothers: Armand Arnaud and Etienne Arnaud with Jolie.

    14. Really goodI really like this author and finished the book in a matter of hours. I don't write many reviews and I try to keep them short and sweet. I really loved this story. Violette didn't shy away from the horrible things slaves endured to make this a sweet romance but wrote it subtly as this was life at this time. It wasn't a commentary on the horrors of slavery but slavery was an integral part of the story.

    15. Deeply moving and sexy. A truly enjoyable book. My heart ached for the slaves and what they had to endure because of the color of their skin. Leon and Penny despite adversity were able to love each other. I appreciated how strong the characters were. This book was beautifully written, it displayed the hardships of those times and the strong will the African Americans had to survive. Threw it all the characters were able to find love despite their racial differences.

    16. There have been a few books from Violette Dubrinsky that have been recommended to me that I have had no interest in at all because of the setting. This book I have been passing over for a while. I wish I'd pick it up a long time ago because I absolutely loved this book. Nothing else to it. I loved it.

    17. Oh my goodness!!! This was an excellent book!!!Werewolf, slavery , Underground Railroad wow!!Merged review:Remember reading this book, werewolf French man tried to free slaves, falls in love with one, marries herFaces some prejudices. But raises a family through time, enough to see an "end to slavery"

    18. I thought this book was really great right up until the near end when something happened that was, in my opinion, just unnecessary. Without any spoilers, I will just say it ruined the book for me. I didn't realize that this was a sequel until I started searching for other books by the author. I think the author is very talented but I was extremely disappointed.

    19. Oh my days!!! This is one fantastic HOT story! I so love Penny and Leon's love!! Wow! what a fabulous story!

    20. I read this story when it was originally posted online. I really liked it and enjoyed it. I thought it was well done, and further cemented how much I like this author.

    21. One of her best books! It had me curses and cringing and crying by the time I was finished! Definite must read.
